Tokyo Jane

Do I swallow razor blades in my sleep?

I am starting to think that this may be the case as the last few mornings I have woken up with such a raw throat. And this lasts the whole day – it’s not purely a morning thing. After much advice from loved ones to suck throat pastilles / have hot drinks / have lemon and honey / have medicinal brandy or whisky… I hadn’t managed to shrug it off just yet. I hate feeling like this. I feel so unenergetic, down in the dumps and blah right now.

Yesterday the postman presented me with a parcel and I was a little confused as I didn't remember ordering anything lately! I opened the package up and found this lovely little surprise:

Trying to resist the temptation of opening the sweets and eating them straight away, I unwrapped the little box covered in cute wrapping paper to find this beauty:

I recently won a giveaway at Nicole Richie Anonymous for a bracelet similar to the one that Nicole Richie herself had been photographed wearing. I am in love with this bracelet! It is so shiny (which is perfect for my inner magpie!) and the leather between each link is so soft, it’s exquisite. I can’t wait to wear it and will no doubt feature it in an outfit post in the near future :)

If you like the bracelet you can find it here in an array of different colours. Check out the Tokyo Jane website if you get a minute – they do some lovely things.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Fran for sending me this lovely package and bringing a smile to my face when I’ve been feeling so under the weather lately. Thank you!

I'm going to keep the rest of this post short and sweet as I'm not feeling that great.
Here’s what I've been up to lately...

Cooking… I had the house to myself at the weekend so decided to make full use of the kitchen:

Paella

Ingredients for making teriyaki sauce
+ ready made jar “just in case”...

Teriyaki was a success! Didn't need the jar in the end!

Sucking…. Soothers. I will need more soon.

Wearing… ponchos and capes. I LOVE them. I need more in my life.

Loving... the revamp of Company magazine. I've been a devoted reader for 7 years now and this revamp is so modern, eye catching and edgy. It’s such great value for money – there’s always lots to read and this new look makes them look more luxe and expensive (without actually being expensive).

Shopping… at dorothyperkins.com. I made full use of VIP week where shoppers can get 20% off their order with the discount code DPVIPD. There is also plenty of sales stock left still. If you spend over £75, you are eligible for a free gift - but can only claim this if you don’t use the VIP discount code *boo!*

Watching… The Model Agency which debuts tonight - Channel 4, 10pm-11.05pm

  4. Well, I hope your throat soreness clears up soon! I wake up with a sore throat on a semi-regular basis, but it goes away within an hour or so. Weird.

All the food is making me so hungry. Glad your teriyaki sauce turned out! I used to use the premade "Stir Fry sauce" from the store but now make my own...it's not really too difficult and it tastes a whole lot better!

Congrats on your bracelet, too. I like it!

  12. Company is my favourite magazine too! I love how it's very editorial rather than celebrity obsessed. I always get it, I didn't realise Marina was on the front cover, so that's even more reason for me to buy as she's one of my style icons - I love her! And aw poor you - hope you feel better soon, at least you've got some yummy food to keep you occupied hehe :) x
