If a person gives you their time, they can give you no more precious a gift

I know some people disagree with present posts but I see nothing wrong with them as long as people a) don’t boast and b) don’t moan about what they did / didn’t get. I am always nosy  interested about the gifts others receive – plus it provides me with gift inspiration for friends and family when I’m lacking in ideas.

Here’s a taster of some of the things I received this year:

1. Body shop goodies - strawberry scented shower gel + body butter
2. Parisian style guide - I love anything to do with France
3. Jewellery - earrings and a ring / bracelet combo
4. Chanel treats - some excellent choosing done by my Aunt!
5. Various nail varnishes and a very cute cat pen
6. Bloggers style guide book - which features Giselle
7. Eat Pray Love - I have only heard good things about this book
8. Garden State - LOVE this film and now have my own copy :)
9. Bridesmaids DVD - always good for a giggle!
10. Sarah Milllican DVD - saw her live in November, adore her!
11. CSI type book - love watching CSI and reading up on forensics
12, Lovely purple silky robe (hanging on the banisters)

Pretty cool, huh?  Excuse the chipped 'varnish!

I am so thankful to all my friends and family for their generosity and for thinking of me. I won’t be blogging now until the New Year so just to want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year :)

How are you seeing in the New Year this year?

All I want for Christmas is you

Happy Boxing Day! Hope you all had a blast yesterday!

I spent Christmas with my family and it was pretty standard – alcohol first thing in the morning, big lunch time feast, hours of presents after lunch and then eating some more (despite everyone moaning they’re still full from lunch and couldn’t possibly eat another bite - yet still managing to somehow!)

Later in the evening we all sat down and watched Michael McIntyre's Christmas Comedy Roadshow and sampled some liquors I'd brought back from Paris:

It's not milk, I swear!

I’m not a liquor drinker and I can’t stand Baileys – but these are amazing! I brought two bottles of the stuff – chocolate and biscuit. Lethal but majorly tasty!

I decided to wear my trusty French Connection dress (the gold not the silver - felt the gold was more festive) which has just the right amount of sparkle for Christmas

... with obligatory festive underwear

Photographed from the worst of angles –
knickers look ma-hoo-sive and they’re really not!!

... and my block heels which were first mentioned in this post here

Tonight I’m off to the pub for a mate’s birthday and
first thing tomorrow morning I’m braving the sales!

Hope you’re all enjoying the festive season! x x

6 sleeps ‘til Christmas!

So close to Christmas already and I can shamefully admit that I have neglected my Advent Calendar this year. We’re 19 days in and I haven’t opened a single door. Don’t know what’s up with me. I have one of the chocolate variety and I guess that I’m just not that bothered about chocolate any more. I get the shakes and terrible low blood sugar at times so only really eat it out of necessity these days.
Do you still enjoy Advent Calendars? And are you happy enough with a chocolate offering every day?

There are alternative Advent Calendars out there, mind. One year I might have to treat myself to the Lancôme “All I Want This Christmas” one from Selfridges:

If you could have any Advent Calendar in the world, what would you pick?

I like the idea of a perfume Advent Calendar. A mini bottle of something each day would set you up nicely for the year ahead. But the ultimate Advent Calendar… a small sample size Yankee Candle behind each door. Or any candle for that matter. Particularly festive smelling scents like Christmas tree, satsumas, cinnamon etc.

Having spent pretty much all evening traipsing around Oxford Circus after work trying to finish the Christmas shopping (and subsequently failing to do so), I felt there was no better day to crack the Advent Calendar open.

Lack of camera lead means no Paris pics just yet + crap iPhone quality… hooray(!)

19 bits of chocolate plus a glass of red wine are really hitting the spot right now :)

A bientôt!

Sorry that I’ve been MIA lately. End of November / start of December is always a crazy time. I’m excited for Christmas but also freaking out a bit because I’ve barely started my Christmas shopping. I literally have no ideas for presents for people and feel so uninspired by the High Street this year :(

In exciting news, I’m off to Paris tomorrow!

Can’t wait to visit all the Christmas markets and do touristy things :) Hopefully I can get my act together and finish my Christmas shopping there!

Paris post to follow next week - à bientôt!
