Boots have always been - and always will be - one of my wardrobe staples. With so many different varieties readily available for all manner of occasions - whether formal or casual - boots are timeless and will never go out of style. My favourite pair to date have served me well. First purchased 8 years ago, they've seen me through when I lived and worked abroad, uni, and general day-to-day wear without so much as a scratch.
But nothing lasts forever. I had to say goodbye to them recently, as excessive wear during our increasingly bad British weather had severe consequences. The heel fell off one boot making for a lopsided Lucy, and both boots developed holes under-foot, rendering them completely useless on rainy days. I am now in real need of a replacement pair. I can't keep walking around in ballet pumps with soggy feet. When Kieron from Barratts contacted me about Terri Lowe's competition to be in with a chance of winning a voucher to spend on the Barratts site, it couldn't have come at a better time.
I had a peek on the Barratts website and I was honestly really impressed with their latest collection.
Here are some of my top picks:
1 // Everyone needs a smart pair of boots, right? This pair wouldn't just keep my legs warm in sub-zero temperatures, but they'd be perfect to wear to work and on nights out. They are the perfect mix of smart and casual - ideal for that dreaded "smart casual" dress code that we face so often these days!
2 // Normally I'll choose black boots over brown boots however this pair are set to change me. The buckle detail is gorgeous and makes the boots look so expensive when in actual fact they're not. They look such a sturdy and comfy pair to don for autumnal walks in the woods.
3 // Tan boots and tan satchels will never fail to excite me. Like black, it is a colour that just goes with everything. The tan colour of these boots paired with not one, not two, but THREE buckles makes this the perfect autumn / winter boot to pair with your denim skinnies.
4 // Another pair of smart boots - this time in black. The heel on this pair is slightly lower though making it a more sensible choice for long days spent on your feet. I love the ruched quality to it and like the brown pair, they will only get better with age.
5 // I liked the style of this boot so much that I chose them in black too! This and the brown pair are such a versatile boot as they would also look great styled with a skirt or a dress.
6 // Biker boots always hold a special place in my heart. I'm not at all girly, and I always like to toughen up dresses and skirts with something a little edgier. These boots look like they have soles with a good grip - making them perfect for rainy / snowy days.
